I found a coworker's evergreen hybrid (NOID) dendrobium plunked on my desk this week. She works in a cubical-ala-Dilbert with no natural light, and no way to get it close enough to the flourescents, and it will never rebloom for her there. So she has given it to me (I have west-facing window in my office).
Now a beginner's question, since I have never had these before: do these rebloom on old pb's? One fat one, which I know has bloomed before and has no leaves left, has a swelling node near the top of the pb and I wondered what it could be?
The plant is healthy with a new sprout, but of course quite dark green leaves due to the low light. Just wondering what the blooming habits might be like for this type?
Thanks.

Yes they will. A NoID Dend phal I have did the exact same thing this year. Earlier this winter I noticed a little green bump near the top of a really old leafless cane and now have a bunch of flowers. Some people seem to have trouble getting these bumps to do their thing on old canes, but mine grew quite fast. Good luck.
