Hello Jordan. I'm not sure with this unguiculatum in a temperate setting. This one loves bright, indirect sunlight, lots of heat, and lots of water. It doesn't seem to have a "dormant" period, grows throughout the year, and is in bloom every other month or so.

Woo-hoo!! I'm going to have to look for this one. Water I can provide. Sunlight and heat I've got. Constant flowers I love! Thanks for the info - I must go shopping now!

Pteroceras unguiculatum is to me one of the two most underrated orchids in the Philippines, the other being Ceraia simplicissima (Dendrobium crumenatum). They are so common and widespread that a lot of keepers plainly ignores them. And yet, make no mistake about it, I do love these plants. Not only are the blooms quite sizable- around 3 cm across for P. unguiculatum and 5 cm for C. simplicissima- but they are intensely sweetly scented. The frequent flowering of these species compensates the fugacious nature of the flowers.

Very well grown Angel. I can see the plant is very robust and it looks so attractive with all those roots.

Its a nice thing to have ; the short flowering is not all bad ; a good talking point when you have a visitor - I have several things I'll never take out of the greenhouse, but which are good to see when I am in there, for whatever reason.
