    Cool Grilled Asparagus

Place asparagus in a shallow dish and drizzle with olive oil.
Sprinkle minced garlic, salt, and pepper evenly over asparagus.
    Toss well to cover asparagus
Place on grill, preferably an upper rack, directly on the metal, no tin foil.
After about 10 mins, turn carefully.
Remove from grill when stalks are tender, they should appear slightly wrinkled and the tips should just show some dark edges.

This sounds easy and wonderful. I will try this one out. It is warming up enough here to start grilling again. Usually, when we are lucky enough to get asparagus, we chop it up into a salad or steam it and serve it as a side. I like the idea of grilling it.

    cheers,
    BD

It turned out great on a plain old charcoal grill. I don't know where it came from I was just picking up stuff for my little cookout and they had it on sale, I picked it up and there you have it! Tasty little experiment

Oh, and you can do the exact same thing with a large portabella mushroom cap. Just slice it into long strips, but be careful not to break them. They do well for vegetarian guests, and are very good.

AH....Alana, this is my fave side to have with any grilled meat! So simple and tasty. Quick fyi- if you are an asparagus freak like me and are wanting it grilled when its just too cold out (or rainy), the results are just as great roasting in a hot oven! So you never have to do without.

yes, roasting is good too! I do the olive oil and s&P but will add the garlic. Love spring asparagus! Thanks.
