Thanks for the info. Here's hoping someone will post pix of the show.

I'm sad to say, we forgot our camera at home...I'm still mad about it... But, I do have a couple plants that found a new home, at my place!

    Dtps. Shu Long Beauty (Bloomed/Blooming)
Paph Wizardry (Red Fusion x Wizard's Flame) Just starting to bloom.
I'm not sure what the Paph will look like, as I picked it up for the beautifully unique mottled leaves.

I'll see if I can post some pics of them tomorrow.

    Talking Phal and Paph Pic

My only complaint was that the Phal came stuffed with Spag moss and really wet, yet we liked it best. The Paph seemed to have a nice medium fine charcoal/bark/perlite/spongerock mix and looked perfect in every way.

Wow - they are both really nice looking plants. I hope you repotted that phal right away to get it out of that wet moss.

    Cheers,

    Default Thanks BD

I read your article on Phal care and saw you had valuable insight and experience to offer, so coming from you, that means something. I had actually posted a thread asking for people's opinions on whether to repot or not during bloom (as I had heard it was not the best for the flowers and I'm still lacking confidence in my limited experience growing Phals), so, in the meantime had spread the moss apart and taken out most of it to allow some air in there, but I think I got my answer from you. I've got my mix soaking for a fresh repotting. Thanks!

If the phal is still in bloom, just be careful not to jostle the roots too much. It should be fine. Be sure to watch our video on repoting a Phalaenopsis orchid.
