I took up a new habit of soaking my Potinara in the goldfish tank in my basement growroom once a week to really get it wet. I let it float for about 10 minutes. When I hang it up, sometimes the chain that it is on swivels and the plant has it's 'back' to the fan and does not get a breeze. I am now noticing what I think to be fungus. Do you concur?

Better to treat it with fungicide than not. Even if it is not a fungus the treatment will not hurt. Is it possible to add another fan?
Cheers,

Fungus isn't a huge problem. I just had a minor fungus problem on my enc. cordigera. The fungus/mold was on the leaf area where it joins the bulb, along several flower stems, plus the back of a few flowers. I took the orchid out of the greenhouse, and sprayed it with a 9 parts water, 1 part clorox. I used a brush where the leaves come together, and wiped off the fungus with paper towels. Then, I sprayed the whole plant again, flowers too. Let it dry in the shade. Fungus is gone, orchid is doing fine.Betty :-)
Excellent! I love using clorox, it has many uses in the orchid room. It is time to take the orchids out for the summer, I will do exactly as you describe.
Thanks Betty!
