I have moved all my cattleyas and my dendrobiums to the outdoors. My porch faces east, with filtered sun in the early morning. My plants do get about 3 plus hours of direct sun until the early afternoon. I do not have any orchids in the wire baskets on the railing, due to squirrel issues. They still manage to cause some problems with the hanging baskets, but not very often. Have Fun, Rich.

They seem to be loving it!
Very nice and decorative. Wouid really look great when the plants are in bloom.
Funny how we use the English language. Here in Malaysia we refer to what is shown as a 'balcony'. Thus sometimes visitors to Malaysia are perplexed by our version of English which we refer to as Manglish ( most probably due to mangled form of the Queen's English?). So with reference to buildings we have bungalow, terrace-house( linked houses),verandah, five-foot way - and an orchid house is always called an orchid shed.
Lovely ! If I were your neighbour, I would be constantly staring at your porch LOL... !
Looks like the PERFECT place for your orchid collection, Rich! Betty
nice growing area pretty sure your orchids enjoys it
That looks amazing! That would be a nice place to sit and unwind...while staring at the beauties hanging. Looks like a perfect place to spike out a dendrobium!
