    Talking "Foxtail" Rhynchostylis Retusa

Like every year when the Monsoon season comes, the Foxtails bloom profusely here in Phuket! Enjoy.

    Cheers, Michael

Very nice Michael. The leaves on your retusa look very different from the ones found here. Yours seem to have broader leaves. However the flowers look the same.

Michael, that is interesting. In my greenhouse no trace of monsoon, but my "foxtail" is also flowering.

How lovely to see it growing on a tree like that! Your garden looks so good. Is that a papaya tree in the background?

Yew I have both the types of R. retusas, the broad leaved onces from North east Indian temperate forests and light coloured narrow leaved ones from tropical forests in my state, the flowers are a bit different in colouration form and size.

Thanks Amey for the info. I didn't know about the broad-leaved retusa. The only broad-leaved rhyncostylis i've seen is Rhyncostylis gigantea.
