    Default Soaking Leca.

I have found recently that soaking the leca in boiling water really speeds up the time that is needed to get it fully hydrated.
Pour the boiling water on & listen to it fizz.
Will also help to kill off any nasties in the leca as well.

I did this the other day after seeing your post when I had to unexpectedly move a phal up without time to presoak more than a couple minutes. Wow, I've never heard such Snap, Crackle, Pop, even in Rice Crispies!

Also seems like it would help eliminate any mineral residue if you reuse the pellets, since that boiling water will dissolve it pretty quick.

I'm going to try it next time I repot in s/h. Thanks for sharing the info, Unca.
