    Default Part of my Job!

    I am floral manager for an upscale grocery store chain. I love my job because I work for a great family owned company and they pay me to work with my favorite things all day---FLOWERS! Today was a fun day. I received a large shipment of Bromeliads and miniature phals. Spent the day avoiding all the paperwork, customers and getting my Easter 2011 plant order ready and played with my favorite plants. My staff were all envious because they were busy with customers and department cleaning. I am sure they will get even! LOL We sale many quality orchids each day that are especially grown for us by a private orchid grower. We mainly carry phals, oncids, paphs and occaisionally others. The floral staff in all our stores are trained in how to care for and grow the types of orchids we sell.

    OH, Bill! I wish you were floral manager for a store near me. Our grocers, box stores, and even most of our garden shops don't have a CLUE about orchid's needs. Granted, I've gotten some good rescue buys, but, oh, to have a person like you working in a store I frequent! I would feel better buying a markdown if I knew the department at least cared for the orchids properly while they were in their store. You truly have a dream job.
