I believe it's the ginger root that is used to flavor curry. I began to use it when we lived in Hawaii...Betty :-)

Thank you, Desiree. Striking it is, both in color and size. Of good substance too. Perhaps you could grow these in your area if it isn't too cold there. It likes wet and warm weather.

Hi Betty. Yew Sung says it is also used in curry in Malaysia. Well, thank you for that info. It adds a totally different dimension to this dynamic plant.
