    Cool

    Asking a serious or important question then getting an answer that is not only way off base but, 2 guesses less than I already knew and obviously made up as it goes along. How's that old saying go? If you can't dazzle people with brilliance then baffle them with. . . . UMmm, let's see ?????
    Oh Yeah. . . That's it, "Feces Bovinum !" LOL ;-}

    that was funny, Pete!
    One of my pet peeves: when people (who don't grow orchids) come up and paw at your plants- they are very well meaning, but they pick up and bend and push the leaves to see the flowers, and then push their fingers into the flower and spread it, and try to put their fingers into the pouches of my slipper orchids... while I stand by and try to maintain a sickly hospitable smile while fuming inwardly....Really, plants need people to respect their personal space too!!!!!

    I'd have no qualms telling someone not to do that. If they take offense ... too bad. But generally if phrased politely --"Please don't do that ... it damages the flower." -- they're okay with it. I can understand the urge to stick a finger in there though. It's kind of a little kid curiosity thing.

    I'll give two erksome things:

    1) When a catt decides to send its new pseudobulb growth down into the pot. (Dumb thing!)

    2) When people mispronounce "keiki". Many folks I know mispronounce it "kee-kee". It's like nails on a chalkboard for me.

    It irks me that my mom in law (who we live with and who got me into orchids) feels like we have way too many of them. Is there such a thing as too many? I mean really. Oh, and I agree with the space thing as well.
