Josh, I imagine they'll be ok for a week, but the sooner you can get them flasked, the higher germination rate you'll have.

Default Kyle.....questions from another in the great white north

I guess cause Im new here I couldnt send you a private message...anyway...just asking about WHO OSC? is that you recommended for flasking material...and would like to talk further with you about flasking etc...and find out where you are...I am in BC. I am trying to pollinate my orchids, and would like to flask seeds...have thought about getting seeds from others to flask as well, but want to get the flasking organized first! I am mainly into phals, but have a few miltonias, cattleyas, and one odontoglossom.....

Soapmaster OSP stands for Orchid SeedBank Project, and you can buy packs of seed for around 4 to 6 dollars a pack depending on the species. You can also buy media from them as well. They were cheep and had a long list. He gets the excess seed from Troy Meyers and others donate seed to him too. In my first experiance with flasking, I didnt think it was that hard, but I;m used to maintaining a sterile field too. I think that is your biggest thing is keeping it sterile. The next biggest thing is having the propper setup. I was lucky and was able to use the schools flowhood. Not going to be able to do as much as I wanted to though. Provided things go well, they are so far, I will be thinking about building my own flow hood for future propigation. Then I may try my hand at meristemming. Moouuaahhhhaaahhhaaahhhhaaaaaa!!!!
