    Default Aerangis punctata

This is a miniature species from the central highlands of Madagascar where it grows at elevations of 900-1500m.

It is best grown mounted under low light and intermediate conditions. Leaf size 2-2.5cm. Flower size 2.5 - 3.5cm. The spur can be as long as 12-15cm!

    Nice verrucose roots:

Nice plant, Thomas. I have had a single growth plant for few years now and I wish it would send out basal growths. How dry do you keep your plant in winter? TIA

I also love the roots on this plant. Your picture #3 shows an interesting looking root. My a.punctata had something about 0.5" long and slightly curled sitting at the bottom of a worm eaten looking mount. It looked like nothing so much as a fat little apple green caterpillar or worm. I tried to nudge it off with a skewer, but fortunately I had a feeling that it might be a part of the plant itself. So I left the plant outside for about 15 minutes and waited for the worm/caterpillar to climb off and leave, but it didn't budge. Turns out, it's the end of a root- grown fat and green for some strange reason. It's the weirdest thing. It's still sitting there looking like that. If I have the time I'll take a picture and post it here.
