Dendrobium anosmum is widespread over Malesian Eco-biological Region.
They are many varieties I have known from the Philippines and some have not yet published and needs to be confirmed:
Dendrobium anosmum (Ordinary Lavender type)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Gigantea (Medium Cattleya sized flowers and also it is among the longest canes of this species)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Parviflora (Small flowers)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Dearei (also known as Alba)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Semi-alba (ordinary type, lavender column and white petals and sepals)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Huttonii (also known as Blue lip Semi-alba and one of the orchid collectors item)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Semi-alba Rubra (Red orange lip semi-alba which is slowest growing and shortest canes of the species)
Dendrobium anosmum var. Coerulea (Blue colored type instead of lavender)
They were in one of my friend top primary collections of Philippine Orchids.
Dendrobium anosmum var. Huttonii, this one I'd love to have..... unfortunately when i found
one before it was way too much out of my budget....
dendrobium anosmum also does have a sweet fragrant smell.
until when is watering withheld? once the bud emerge or when once the buds starts to open?
Can't be sure until it blooms.
i've been thinking the plant needed an energy to develop those buds. i'm hoping someone would chime in and have a definite answer thanks though.
