2 different plants with different problems

Hi
It's been awhile since I have logged on so I need to do alot of reading. I really , really watch my plants.. It's been too hot here the last few weeks.
Anyways, here goes.
1.my Dend. has a keiki growing & I don't know how to handle it. What should I do? I think it may have a stem coming, looks kinda dry, do I moved it.
My orchids are all outside.

2. this Mtssa. looks really sick... Lack of water??? But what else???
Will it die? Should I throw it out.. Hope you say NO...Thanks for all the

you can cut that keiki off and put it in its own pot. for the other other check the roots.

The miltassia needs water. That could mean the roots have rotted away and the plant is not able to take up water. Ease it out of the pot and check the roots.

I got my Dend. taken care this morning..
Here is what the roots look like on the Mtssa.
What do you think??? Are they in too bad of shape??

The roots look like they may be dead, Joan. While it is possible for roots to get stained from the media, generally brown roots are dead. The way to check is to gently "pinch" a root. If the root is hard/firm, then it is probably OK. If the root feels soft/"squishy", it's dead.

Thanks for a very fast responds, it's just laying on my cabinet.
Well as I haven't done this much. They really don't feel "squishy" but they are so small that it's hard to tell.
I do have a new growth on it & it's root look really good & healthy. Should I divide it? or let it be.
I hate looking at a dieing plant, if that's the case. If I can't help it out.
