It looks like a Dendrobium.... anyways, if the buds re blasting I would think the humidity
is not enough.

Hi everybody, Sorry I only come knocking when I have troubles. I have an orchid ( sorry I don't know what kind it is) It has 2 stems full of bud. But the buds are drying up and dropping off before they can open up and bloom. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough water so I increased the watering to every other day. No change. It was in a North window in the lower level but didn't get direct sun because of an outside shrub outside the window. It has sprouted a new third stem so I really am puzzled. Today I moved it upstairs to the dining room table. Beside it downstairs was a Oncidium sphacelatum that just started blooming yesterday. That is some good news. I will try and attach pictures. I appreciate any help you can give me. I have only had orchids for about 18 months.

How do you suggest I increase the humidity? It's 90 degrees outside and we are 6 inches below normal on rainfall. I'll try to find the kids humidifier. Maybe I'll just go buy a new one. Will that work?
On the bright side the Odontocidium next to it is starting to bloom.
