Wow! What a cool plant! I have wanted Fdk. After Dark SVO Black Pearl ever since I read about it in AOS years back! Lucky you!
Well Camille it won't be difficult for you to get hold of one. Just contact the grower who created this hybrid and it's still up for sale I believe while the supply lasts.
If I'm all the way here in Manila and was able to get one, it shouldn't be difficult for you since you are living right there in the U.S. of A.
Cheers!
Hello all!
I’m new to the forum so please excuse my ignorance for many things...I currently have one of these...tag says it’s “Fdk. After dark, SVO black pearl fcc/aos”. Picture attached...I have had it for almost four years, ---- Vendor information removed - see FAQs on Posting ----and it has yet to bloom.I live in Denver and have it in a southern window with a huge silver maple in the front yard for shade. She gets early morning/evening sun but during the heat of the day the sun shades the window. She has other orchid friends in the window too, two Phal, two paphs, one mtdm. Pacific paragon and lastly one oncdps autumn falls ‘dutches’. All of which have blossomed at some point. I have tried everything for this little black pearl orchid gal, full strength fertilizer, weak Weekly watering, water only, and she has yet to blossom for me. What am I doing wrong? What can I do about her roots? Would now be a good time to repot? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bugsy.
