I would suspect bacterial or fungal damage. Another possibility might be if you're watering with water that is too cold that has splashed up onto the underside of the plant

I saw these "pits" on the bottom of phal leaves and I decided to chop off the leaf just to be careful. As you can see from the first picture it didn't matter as the marks kept on appearing. Do any of you know what this is and how I can deal with it to limit it from spreading to other plants besides the ones already infected and killing whatever is doing this?

My baby is 10 months now so I'm getting a bit more free time which the orchids gladly soak up hence my return to the board
Probably have to go with one of the first two as only a couple of phals have it and I'm watering with the same water for all my plants. I'll try to keep it a bit warmer from now on to be sure.
I've read up on the bacterial and fungal damage and it appears that the lesions should be growing if it was bacterial or fungal and they've been on the plants a long time and are not growing at all just multiplying. Could this be some kind of insect? I tried finding it day or night but no luck so far.
Phyrex,
I had small marks on the underside of a new leaf on a phal seedling recently that showed up on the upper side as pale blotches. These appeared on two consecutive days and on the third day I found ants carting away a little snail! Attaching a picture, which is not very clear though.
