Bought under the name ( very helpful, this ! ) Bulbophyllum species maybe from Sumatra. Can't remember why I bought it, I don't often go in for lucky dips ; maybe I just felt that I ought to support a trader who had supported my Society show.
Looks like a Cirrhopetallum to me, but then I can never remember the difference between this kind of Bulbo and Cirrho - although I may have had it explained to me not more than 3 or 4 times. But it's such a lovely symmetrical pattern. The complete "wheel" by the way is about 2 inch maybe 2 1/2 inch diameter ; usual bulbo pseudo-bulbs rather well spaced on the rhizome, size of a brazil nut or thereabouts.
Suggestions, welcome. BTW I can't find anything that looks like it in the Siegerist book, which is the only specialist one on this genus in my library.

Sure is pretty...I like it a LOT! Betty :-)
hi geoff,
its most likely cirrhopetalum flabellum veneris, aka lepidum. the coloration can vary a lot in this species.
Very nice...
Geoff I cant help nice aurum color, may be Ron is right var. lepidum.
Beautiful, I love the color and perfect form.
Cheers,
BD
so Beautiful,I love the color and perfect form.,too!
Could be a flabellum veneris, also looks a lot like gamosepalum, though I've not seen the concolor yellow forms of both. An advice I got from a bulbo fancier to identify a Cirrho is that they are 'daisy-like' with their flowers arranged around the 'stalk' or umbel.
