Only got two blooms on this one, but it was under some funny circumstances. I bought the plant last Fall, and I think it went through a few changes all at once. The plant seems healthy, so I don't think it's trying to reproduce before it dies. I hope to bloom it again next year with many more blooms

Looks gorgeous, luv it
Nice picture, Dave. It seems to be doing great!
Nobile type Dendrobium need to be restricted from all Nitrogen after about August. If you fertilize you get growth and less flowers.
We have started using 6 month slow release fertilizer in January and apply it only once a year.
It is still early in the season and it may still make a full bloom later.
Thanks everybody,
I did something to the pic resizing it, and I must have changed the original. I cropped the edges of the bloom off. If I get a chance, and the right light today I will try another picture. We are having a family gathering at our house today, so I may not be able to. The color is hard to photograph, as the flash washes it out and not using flash makes it too dark.
I like it enough to change my profile. Now, my favorite orchids are "Dendrobiums" I am already planning to get some more Nobiles fairly soon.
Thanks again,
Dave
Well, Dave, the orchid shows are just around the corner. Depending on how far you don't mind driving and where you happen to be located. First show is the end of January at Meijer Gardens in GR. Next is in Feb. at MSU. Vendors always show up at the shows with lots of plants and that is generally the time of year for the nobile types.
I am in Houghton Lake. I could make the GR show if I am off of work that weekend. It sounds like it would be worth the drive.
That's a lovely flower. Great growing! I enjoy nobiles a lot, they do well for me.
