Odontocidium Wildcat (Bobcat?)

I know this is a Wildcat, but I'm guessing that it is a 'bobcat' based on other pictures that I have seen. The spike is almost 3 feet tall!

Definitely looks like 'Bobcat' to me--nice going, Christopher! Plant looks very healthy, and the blooms nice and large!

Very nice. Although you called it a Odontocidium shouldn't it be a Colmanara? Or is it a different cross? I dont see the infloresence branching like mine. I have Colmanara Wildcat 'Ocelot' spiking now with 2 spikes. very impresive show these guys put off. I can't wait to see the double mine does this year.

Sad to say, all Wildcats are now properly known as Odontocidium, rather than Colmanara. This is not to say you won't still see them being advertized as Colmanara--you probably will! The change is a result of one ancestor being reclassified. It was formerly a Miltonia/Miltoniopsis, but is now an Oncidium. The parents of Wildcat are Odontocidium Rustic Bridge & Odontocidium Crowborough. (One--not sure which--was formerly an Odontonia.) For many of orchid growers this is particularly troublesome. Wildcat was far and away the best-known Colmanara, but it's no longer a Colmanara.

Rob - thanks for providing the Colmanara / Odontocidium information.

Josh - yes it is branching, but it only has one branch closer to the base of the spike that is hard to see in the picture. This is the first rebloom for me, so I suspect the next one will be better branched. At least I hope so - that is one of the reasons I love the wildcats!
