Friends, need advice on this Phal of mine. I got it in Feb 2010 in a 4 inch pot with small round leaves and a spike with 3 flowers. Since then I had repotted it in July into a 5 1/2 inch clear pot as it seemed too big for the pot. It spiked in November with around 20 buds, unfortunately fell over and broke off the spike before all the buds grew and opened. It has got 2 new spikes, one new and one from the broken off spike. It is currently very top-heavy with large leaves (around 17" wide at the widest) and roots filling up the pot and wandering out of the pot as well. Is it OK to repot it again so soon? Attaching pics of the plant in Feb , July, Nov and today. Thanks in advance and a very happy new year to all!

Mabuhay!
Wow, lucky you. WEll, maybe after the flowering you can repot it. But it seems happy in their so i guess you can give it 6 more months in that pot.
just my 2 cents worth
Hi Nandini, I agree with Moja above. The Potting medium is still relatively fresh and your plant is healthy. What you can do probably in the meantime while it is in bloom is to drop it in a slightly bigger and heavier pot like clay or glazed etc. but remove it from the pot when you water to allow for all the water to drain out.
Very nice blooms and floriferous phal. btw, Congratulations.
Thanks Moja and Eric for the sensible advice! I will wait another few months before repotting and meanwhile keep the plastic pot in a clay or ceramic pot.
