Thank you all for the helpful comments! I don't have a water analysis, although my other orchids are doing well (I have a variety of orchid types). I will repot in a new pot, and decrease the feritilizer. I'm currently using medium grade fir bark. Does this not give the roots enough breathing room?

One note: I was watering just once a week and I was having the same problem and that is why I switched to watering more often.

Any advice for proper lighting or does it look like it's getting the correct amount?

This paph is doing waaaay better since I took the advice you all offered and repotted it in a plastic pot. At this time the leaves are strong and healthy. It has a new plant starting at the base and a new leaf coming out of the center. It also has 2 small growths coming out of the side approx 1" up from the base and I am stumped as to what they are. They are short (approx 1/4") and green and they curve upwards. These two growths are coming out of what appears to be a swollen node on the side. From this description would anyone be able to tell me what is happening?

i might add that the comment about limp leaves, they do lose lower leaves naturally. But it looks pretty to healthy to me, wish mine was as nice.

your growths are either flower spikes or new roots. just keep an eye on them what ever it is, it's good!

Hi, Katherine, Yes! It's all good because the paph seems to be sprouting every which way. Now all I need is for it to flower. I didn't think flower spikes emerged from the sides like these are doing so maybe it's roots. They don't look like the other roots, though. I'll have to keep watching. The suspense is killing me.
