Smile Cattleya Maikai x Cattleya Maxima 'pearly shell'

This one is attached to a very large mount. So far it is doing very well, in spite of the low temps and little sun lately. One flower bloomed upside down. So far, no scent.

The mount is a huge piece of driftwood. It needs another few plants put on it. But it got cold before I could decide which to put on it. There is a local artist that works with driftwood here. The pieces that get cut off when he carves his art he sells pretty cheap.

Very pretty orchid blooms and that driftwood mount is hard to beat! I am sure when your Florida weather warms up you will be filling it up nicely. I have a Dendrobium blooming right now and the first two blooms look upside down to me. Do you know or does anybody; Is this common? Photos to follow when more blooms open. AL
