thanks for the suggestion, but i do not have accessibility to these compound. anyhow, i just found a website selling commercial p668 gel for general sowing. going to try it once my catasetum pods matures!

in my country medium is very expensive....so i try to make some formula to sow my seeds...i know Knudson'C medium is good to sow but i can not find out in Vietnam....

have you sowed Dendro before ? I have three pods Dendro that I pollinated last months. Do you know any media that use for Dendro? You can sow your Catasetum pods when it still green

sorry had not experience with dendro. in fact i am very new to flasking. even if i were to try with this commercial media would be my first attempt.
seed pods can be harvested when they are at least 70% matured. but the yield is higher as the maturity of the pods increases. but some seniors had recommended me media p668 for general sowing purpose.

You should sow the pods when it still green, because you only need to sterilizate the pod by burn it with ethanol 90% once. then you cut it out and sow it in your medium

P6668 is a good medium for epiphytic orchids, as Dendrobiums and Phalaenopsis. You can take Knudson C as well for these orchids.

yes indeed, i usually harvest them while green because seed sterilization seems too troublesome for me. i had been taught to use combination of 90% bleach to soak the seed pod then torch them with the use of alcohol 90% like what you had mentioned. i had tried all three of them, alone individually or in combination, no differences, still manage to produce flask without contamination.
the only thing right now i need is GERMINATION!!!! it had been three months plus, no germination in my catasetum DIY flaksing, i think my chances are getting slimmer

There are many reasons why it won´t germinate. In my experience I had had many problems as the medium was too old and there was no germination at all.

for my case, the medium was freshly prepared. according to one of the nursery owner, he told me that the main reason was i did not check the ph of the medium. i do not have a ph meter, so basically i was just throwing in some lemon juice and took a rough estimation of the ph using a urine dipstick.......
