    Default Colmanara Masai Red

Hey, I just got myself a new orchid Colmanara Masai Red, I know with all those classification changes, it must be called something else, anyways. It is a beautiful plant with deep red almost burgundy flowers, it is difficult to catch the exact colour but I have tried.

And finally one against a light source, it now looks more orangish red. Also you can see my Phal pico striper, which is still in full bloom.

If someone could let me know the parentage of this one I would be really happy. The RHS registry says its a hybrid registered by Anthura, but not the parents. I want to know if it is heat tolerant or a warm grower, any info about that will also be appreciated.

Love the Colmanara! Such a beautiful red!! That candy striped phal is lovely too. I just checked the parents on this one in orchidwiz. Hah..this is what it said: Colm. MASAI RED (Unknown x Unknown)

    Cheers,

My Colm. Masai Splash takes fairly standard oncidium/intergeneric care. Don't know the parents myself, but it hasn't had many complaints regarding temp or watering. I live pretty far north though, so my light levels won't be as high as yours.

Beautiful contrasting colors (that deep red to a lighter red lip). I am sorry I can not help with the parents. AL
