This just opened, flowers about the size of a quarter. Sue got the other half of this division for the prize a few months back--Sue, yours should be about ready! Anyway, neat plant and blooms.....
Very pretty.

I love it ,very pretty ! is it the same as the cordigera? Gin
Wow, nice colours and the shape reminds me of an octopus... with arms coming towards ya... hmm, sounds like an ex... anyways...
Thanks Louis, this one's going on the wish list.
Cheers
Tim
They're neat plants--I give them about as much light as Oncidium and they seem happy.
Gin, you're abslutely right. It's a synonym for cordigera, and actually, I should have listed it as cordigera. Need to change that label....
Yes, encyclias are way cool. That is a beauty.

I thought it looked familiar , mine is in bloom too , the P bulbs remind me of fat onions . Gin
Encyclias RULE!
Matt
About the name of this thing: Prem caught this a while back--apparently the new name isn't Encyclia at all, it's now under Epidendrum. The right name for this plant should be Epidendrum cordigerum.
Sorry for any confusion....
My division should be blooming any day now. I'll post a pic here when it does. It'll be interesting to see how our different cultural conditions affect the bloom shape/color/etc.
