Default A few final shots from my Meijer Gardens trip

So now that I have been snowbound for the day, seems like a good time to post those last pics I promised/"threatened" y'all with back when I posted the orchid shots.

The Hippestrum was perhaps the deepest, richest red I have seen

A few shots from the carnivorous plant room at the Gardens

There was no tag on this tree but I think it might be an Araucaria araucana. It had a very "Norfolk pine" look about it though the leaves did not look like anything one would want to brush up against -- rather pokey with what appeared to be almost serrated edges.

That's a Monkey Puzzel Tree. (Araucaria araucana). The national tree of Chile.

Its actually a relative Araucaria augustifolia. A. araucana has darker, bigger and more equilateral scales and the growth is quite compact.
