@Cindi, your stepping stones are awesome. I agree with Eric . It seems criminal to step on them.
@Don, beautiful - orchids and watercolour just seem to go together.

Thanks everyone for your compliments. I've always enjoyed painting, but I don't paint that often now, which is a bit of a shame...
@ Cin, I really like your stepping stones, they are really great, I think you should hang them and use them as a wall decor instead
@ Janet, beautiful contemporary art work
@ Don, thanks for starting the thread. I love your water colours, I've never been that good at it, I know with the 'white', there can't be any mistake or else you have to start over again...

Cin those are amazing mosaic stepping stones, I wouldn't want to step on them though LOL !
They are fine out in the garden we walk on them everyday. Can't exactly hang them on the wall as they weigh about 50 lbs.
I found a bunch of this old roofing slate in a dumpster in the French Quarter, in New Orleans, LA. No telling how old it is. Anyway this is my acrylic painting of a Lc. Drumbeat.
@Cin I really love your stepping stones, they're awesome!! I really like tile work, I have a garden table that I made out of slate and tried to do a little mosaic on, I'll try to post a pic soon.

Very nice painting. Would love to see the garden table.
Thanks Yew and Amey for the compliments on the painting. Here are some pics of the table top I made. Its made out of some more of the roofing slate, along with some rocks, and glass tiles. Unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures from when it was new, its looking pretty rough from sitting in the sun, the shellac and grout is cracking. I found the mushroom base in a trash pile at a job site.

This is a watercolor I did in 2005 of a phrag orchid.
Cheers,

Shane,
You might try a concrete sealer on the grout and the center. There are sealers out there that supposedly last 20 years. When I made stepping stones, I always sealed them after curing for @ 30 days.
