Yeah, the swallowtails move quickly, but this dude certainly likes your phlox! Lovely shot!

Gin, that's wonderful!
He sure looks thirsty for that sugar--must need the energy after giving you the run!
Gin, you sure take great pics! Worth the chase, I'd say!
I think the little fella was just in a hurry to find a good color for the backdrop.

Thanks all , The Phlox grows all over the place in Mo. I have baby Robins in a nest by the front door when they leave the nest I will try and get a picture of them . Gin
I agree! Gin, you are a master with the camera. What a fantastic shot. Good color, lighting, and depth. I love this forum as much for the photography as for the whole orchid thing! Keep 'em coming.

What Matt said! I'm mostly surprised & impressed with how much further you are along in the season in MO, Gin. I won't see Tiger Swallowtails until some time in June. And as far as blooming Phlox, well, not any time really soon!Originally Posted by mde

Thanks for the compliments , I luck out once in awhile with the pictures , I saw the first Baltimore Oriole yesterday . Wish there was a place with never ending spring Gin
Gin-
The Baltimore Orioles started showing up at my feeder this week...Monday night was the first. They are fantastic! They are emptying the grape jelly feeder already, at a pleasant rate. Have had the Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks back for about 10 days, but not the hummingbirds yet. I'm sure the cold snap we're getting again will hold the hummy's off and the orioles and grosbeaks might just make a run for it and abandon ship!
Do you feed the birds?
Matt
The Orioles might of been here earlier and I did not see them , yes I feed them ( maybe Twiddle will show up ) the hummers have been here for awhile I had to add another feeder , talk about big egos fight fight lolol I had a neighbor that swore if they hit you in the head they would puncture your skull and to migrate they hitched a ride on a goose . lolol .
