Default Repotting Phals when in spike or blooming

I just received 4 new Phals and all are in moss which I am not a fan of. Three of the plants are in spike with one getting very close to opening its first bloom. The fourth has already started to bloom. Can I repot or is it best to wait?

I've repotted plenty of phals in bloom without losing flowers. I would look at the root situation...if it's bad repot. If the roots are good, wait and adjust your watering in the meantime. Either way, it's up to you and what you are comfortable with...I love repotting and would consider the plants long-term health before one season of flowers.

Good advice offered by Jason, Barbara. I have repotted many, many phals, paphs, cattleyas, dends, and a variety of oncidiums in spike, bud, and bloom. The key is to not disturb the roots very much. Clean them, but don't stress the plant. Best of luck to you.

    Cheers,
    BD
