    Default ID help?

I have no idea what this is, except that it's Bromeliad-ish. It's getting ready to bloom, has absolutely zero roots, has been growing for years, and looks like, well, a mess. Can some of you Brom folks ID this thing maybe?

Thanks you guys. I can post a pic again when the flowers open; seeing those would help, I'm sure. Knowing it's a Tillandsia though is at least something to put on a tag!
