The Cymbidium lowianum grandiflora(?)
And i know this SHOULD be under the Oncidiums, but i thought it a waste for one picture.....

both are very beautiful.
Jordan, nice job on blooming the cym! Just wondering what the day/night temp variation is where you are and are you growing outside, under lights, what?
Thanks, Remo
Congrats. I have yet to muster up the courage to show any of mine. I am just happy if they prosper under my care.
Lovely Cymbidium, Jordan. Very well bloomed.
Cheers,

Congrats! Great job on the cym!
Thanks guys, @remo, they bloom in late winter here, where the frosts are at their hardest, and they daytime temp seldom exceeds 12-13*C....if that gives you any idea, but with 4 spikes, i just HAD to bring it in! plus there was a massive storm passing over NZ too, so that served as yet another excuse hehe!
@Craig, Just do it. thats all i have to say, and thats what i did. The cymbidium was in flower, so i decided "what the heck" and took it in. I sold it for 52 dollars in the end anyway, because the sales table was empty (and let me tell you it was laden with orchids!) halfway through! Some exhibitors chids sold for over 150!
Congrats Jordan. That first time win is always special. I can still remember my first winner, a second prize (about 40 years ago). It was V Yong Yuet Lin = V Maurice Restrepo x V sanderiana - in the 1/4 terete vanda section.
Congratulations Jordan! Did you really sell it in the end? that's so funny, you must be a good business person Lol
Hi Jordan
I hate to splash cold water on your orchid.. but I seriously doubt this is in fact Cym. grandiflorum (sic hookerianum). I suspect this is a hybrid made from it, though it is hard to say exactly what this is..
In any case I suggest you read a blog about this lovely orchid.
Chuckie: The mystery of the Grand Monarch
It is authored by Chuck Mausteller, who is rather an expert on species of cymbidiums
It might clarify a few things for you..
In any case I do wish you well and happy Cym growing!!
