The roadside vendor gave me a deal so this one came home with me yesterday as well. I have been on an orchid spree...it's the sunshine affecting me I think. And "Yes", we are very fortunate to have the nurseries, roadside vendors, etc here.

That's a real beauty Connie. That reminds me. The orchid vendor will be at the weekly farmers' market tomorrow and he gave me a call to say he has some new plants.

My bank account is very glad we don't have roadside vendors! We have so much sun that I would always be out there. If it wasn't sunny, I'd say that I need the orchids to brighten it up. I can find an excuse no matter which way...

Connie - I'm glad you find such lovelies. Thank you for sharing.

Almost impossible to pass on that beauty Connie! I know from experience. I bought that exact orchid a few months ago. Can't wait for mine to bloom!

This is a plant I sent upnorth with my mom a few years ago. I am sorry I don't remember what it was in. Most oncidiums are raised in a small size mix. The tinier the roots, usually, the smaller the mix. You could get away with the bagged orchid mix for Phalaenopsis. Just sift out a little of the fine particulate.
