    Hi Satish,

A varietal status is bestowed on plants which show minor morphological (or character) differences from the typical forms; sometimes slight colour differences are also present. Apart from that, varieties tend to form populations that are separate from the nominate (typical) forms. In the past, varietal status was applied to colour forms, but now these forms are more correctly regarded as formas. Formas occur in the same population as the normal plants. For example, albinistic plants, which differ only by their colour and are found within a normally coloured plants' range, are given forma rank.

Even when we have no close-up photo/s of the flowers, I can see the horn-like protuberances on the callus of the blooms that characterize Phalaenopsis stuartiana. And so the plant is Phalaenopsis stuartiana fma. nobilis and is not a hybrid. That's the final answer, folks.

Oh... So beautiful!!! For me, I call Taiwan the heaven of the Phals! I always see beautiful Phals in Taiwan. I always plan to get some phals back here when I visit Taiwan every year, but I always end up worrying the customs thing or if it's allowed to bring them here....So all I can do is to say ooooh and woooow and say bye bye to phals there...:P

Actually I think it's possible but you will need to obtain an import permit from the Bureau of Plant Industry and also the plants have to have the necessary phytosanitary permit papers if I'm not mistaken ....

You know; a International Orchids Exhibit in Taiwan Tainan every March, you can buy some orchids in nursery before exhibiting a few days, then where may offer the quarantine certificate during at show time, will apply official documents through the formal method besides these days...for your reference.
