    Default Repotting paph. and oncidium

Hello. I am not sure what type of potting mixture to use for my paph. ( it came from Trader Joe's in peat and dirt mixture) I also have to repot my oncidium once it stops flowering. Anyone have favorite potting mediums or mixtures? -Meg

    Hi Meg,

Peat and dirt doesn't don't very promising for that Paph. Most of the big box stores will carry some kind of orchid bark mix you can use that will work fine for both your plants, you'll just have to water the paph more often than the oncidium since most of them don't like drying off.

    Hello Meg:

I grow all my Paphs in a mixture of coconut husk, large #4 perlite, sphagnum moss, and charcoal. You could use fine or medium bark in place of coconut husk.

How often do you water depends on your mix. If you water everyday you medium should contain more perlite and less sphagnum moss. If you water every three days then coconut husk will do. If you water once a week then use more sphagnum moss.
