i have tried to cross twice unsuccessful when my phal bellina and phal alba flowered almost the same time. This time it was successful. photos below.
phal alba x phal bellina
phal bellina x phal alba
Oh, my! And you got them both! Congratulations and best of luck with this, Robert.
Ummm, what exactly do you mean by Phal. alba? There no species within the genus Phalaenopsis called alba. There is a such thing as an alba variety, but many species have an alba variety, such as bellina, equestris, and violacea
Okay, that helps a little to know that it is an alba, but it is weird that they wouldn't give you the species name . . . Dobyou have a picture of the flower?
After checking with the vendor - it's phal violacea alba.
Well done, Robert. Thanks for geiting the name from the vendor.
Nicely done, Robert. Glad your orchid cross was successful!
cheers,
BD
That is great that you know what your plant is. Just to let you know, that any cross between violacea and bellina, regardless of the order of the pod and pollen parent, is called Phal. Samera.
