    Default Dicksonia antarctica

Probably the best known of all the tree ferns, and the most common in it's native habitat of eastern Australia. Plants can reach a height of 15 meters, and the trunk can be a couple of feet in diameter.

The plants are very hardy both cold and heat.. the latter more so if provided with plenty of water!

    For more info!

My plant is only a couple of years old, it was initially growing in a pot but when the backyard was ready for planting, in it went, and it's just gone crazy guns with the growth. I think it sets the pond off rather nicely!

    Cheers
    Tim

I was going to ask if you grew any of these. Here's my answer. Now you have your own source of tree fern for orchids.

    Evil evil evil!

Tim, that looks great there. So nice and healthy, too.
