Poo - that's what I figured on the history. I've spent the last few years as a cultural food history buff - you know, history of chocolate, corn, umm...potatoes. So, I want there to be a social history of orchids and I am surprised there is not one out there. Of all plants! Geesh!
I am well aware of Kovachii and its recent exploits. Just - w/ orchids it is difficult to tell the size from pictures. So, made me a bit curious. I like to know in inches as then I truly understand.
"Bigger than a man's hand" works just fine.
Darn -- your photographs are just so beautiful.
Heather, I found two kovachii pics from the web. Here they are.
Thanks - yet again...and again, and again...
LJA is going to make fun again.
Me?
kovachii is absolutely the find of the century. And I don't understand either how something so DARNED HUGE can have stayed so darned hidden for so darned long.
Beautiful shot, Pete. The grey background gives it so much elegance.
Okay -
don't shoot me...
I am not getting the kovacii thing.... except for size. It is cute tho...It seems - dare I say, overrated. For an illegal plant. Am I just an idiot? Explain tio me why I should not be an idiot....
I think I like the haynaldianum better. Am I horrid? It IS a species, Pete!
No you're not "horrid", it's just a matter of personal taste and people should respect that. I don't care for catts even though they are nice and pretty but they don't do a thing for me. I'm sure Paphs and Phrags don't do anything for some people and that is OK.
Different strokes for different folks.
You all aren't going to judge me on this, are you???
