About a week, at the most if i am lucky. The rain destroys the blooms though and we are in for some tomorrow, and it was still a bud yesterday. This time round, the poor guy only has a lifespan of 2 days max!

I love spring flowers - these are really nice. I think my favorite were the Summer Snowflakes - they look like little squash blossoms.

Well if you like those, i have more about to bloom, daffs, more anemones, possibly some rananculus, and some other spring blooms about to pop open too.

    Here are some Daphne odora-

a highly scented shrub when in bloom, i can actually smell it from down the street if the wind is blowing the right way! These bushes were labled as 35NZD rrp, but we were lucky enough to go to the garden centre when their bargain bin was open (twice a year) and got these for 3NZD each See? bargains are a matter of patience, and hope that no-one buys what you want before it is tossed onto the bargain bin lol!

Hebe (syn Veronica) species-Not really spring flowering, but close enough, its a flower.
This plant has survived being run over several times, the latest by me hahaha

This is my FIRST Anemone that ISNT a blue De Caen hybrid, but is a blue double hybrid. Hopefully i will have some of the distinctive red "Governer" hybrids too.
I will post some pics when it is fully open too.

Lovely flowers, lovely sprawling plants, lovely fruit. Who cant love these sweet beans!?
Something strange i noticed was not only the blooming time (because of the temps, there are still no bees around...) but the colour. Two of the 3 plants are the stabdard black/white, but one is PURE WHITE! Anyone know if this is a registered cultivar, or possibly just Vicia faba var alba?

Ok, here are some more, seeing as it is getting into the second month of spring now

    Geranium hybrida

A lovely dark grape coloured blossom, and more flowers than i expected. By the way, those climbing ones you buy from the garden centre, are actually Pelergoniums, not Geraniums.

Sparaxia tricolor-a nice clumping (and extremely well naturalising) spring bulb from South Africa. The Sparaxias come in hundreds of colour combos, this being only one of them. (would love some of the purple ones!)
