It could be Zygppetalum Jumpin Jack'Kalapana' HCC/ACS. Mine is in bloom and coloration is simular. Good luck with your plant.

I should have known that when this plant, tagged "Zygopetalum" finally bloomed, I wouldn't be able to find an easy or definite id. The plant wasn't particularly in good shape when I got it, and the blooms show, I think a little of the effect of some kind of fungus (I've fungicided it ever since I got it, and it's where both humidity and air circulate around it).
Anyone ever seen this particular one?
I'd appreciate the input so much - I waited to spend the money on getting a zygo species and I think I may be in for a disappointment - live and learn....

Believe it or not, I couldn't find a match in all of those zygos - the bid difference with mine is that the lip and callus are yellow with purple veins, and all the others are purple or purple and white. It's in such bad shape now, that it may not matter by tomorrow - I don't think it's thrips - I noticed some black spots and leaves when I bought it, and I suspect it had a serious fungus/rot problem going on before I could get to it and treat it. Now my challenge isa completely different zygo plant NOID with no spikes or blooms, so it will remain a mystery until I can see the flowers - kind of a fun challenge, providing it actually does put out some blooms some day! Maybe I'm just not meant to be a zygo grower and should stick to paphs, cyms, dens, and catts. I guess time will tell.....

Please free to disregard all of the above requests for info on this plant - it went to that great zygo resting place in the sky shortly after - had been being eaten up with some kind of rot when I got it. I did get another one - healthy, I think, and I'll run a separate thread to ask for help id'ing THAT one. Thanks to all for your time and help so far.
