    Red face New to orchids

    Hi!
I just bought a Cattleya T-4701 C.Underline Buena Suerte for 3.00 lol. I know nothing about this orchid...could someone please fill me in. I've been reading up on the care but I dont know anything about its characteristics. I figured the price is right for a beginner.

    Thanks

Welcome, Darla! Uh-oh!! Now you've gone and started something. I warn you that a relationship with orchids is extremely addictive - but extremely rewarding, as well. The orchid you refer to is probably C. Undine Buena Suerte. It will need lots of bright light.

Will this be a large plant? Is it fragrant?

I don't have one of these beauties, but from what I understand, the flowers are large, about 5 inches across, with a nice fragrance.

"Outstanding and vigorous splash, great for winter and will occasionally bloom again in summer. Flowers to 5" or more, two to four on strong spikes." is a description I found on one website.

It sounds like one I'd like!

It will need bright light (2500-3500 foot candles). Let the medium become completely dry before watering again.
