Jason and Bruce - I'm working on it. Oh - and I'll post this separately later, but I won another blue ribbon for a green Maudiae at the Atlanta Orchid Society Meeting last night. Go figure!

With Parallel or VMware you have to install windows onto your mac. There is another programme i use often on my mac from codeweavers called CrossOver. I have macbook air and a few windows laptops on xp, vista and 7 as i need them in order to do my job sometimes so i dont have the need to install windows on my mac. Which from what you save on orchidwiz will cost far more than the saving for the licence.
System requirements for my recommendation are
Intel-based Macintosh system running Mac OS X
(note: CrossOver will not run on PowerPC systems)
120 MB of free disk space
Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.x) or later is recommended.
For CrossOver 10.x and higher, Tiger (10.4.x) is no longer supported.
CrossOver 10.1 and above support Mac OS Lion (10.7.x)

    Hope this helps you
    Jason
That sounds good, but Orchidwiz doesn't come up in the Crossover compatibility search on the codeweavers site. Do you know firsthand whether Orchidwiz will run on Crossover?

I currently still have the free Windows 7 beta that MS distributed a while back and can run it on Virtual Box. Seems to still function; it just puts up nag screens from time to time, although I haven't really played with it enough to see if it still has full Win7 functionality.

Brought your e-mail to the attention of the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society at our meeting last night, and I ordered Orchid Wiz this morning.

    Hi,
It will work as an access runtime.

Thanks, I guessed correctly then that the app is Access-based. There are some caveats though, depending on which version of the runtime it uses.

    Access Runtime 2002 (MSARTXP)

    Silver Medal
The Silver rank is awarded to applications that install and run well enough to be usable. This means that the consensus of our users is that you can expect to use these applications on an everyday basis with good results. However, they also contain bugs that prevent them from running flawlessly.

    Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime

    Bronze Medal (Officially Supported)
The Bronze is awarded to applications that install and run, and that can accomplish some portion of their fundamental mission. However, Bronze applications generally have enough bugs that we recommend that our customers use them with caution. Save early/save often, and don't be surprised if there are some bumps along the way.

The most important aspect of a supported Bronze application is that CodeWeavers makes a firm commitment to bring all Bronze applications to the Silver level in future releases of CrossOver. Furthermore, CodeWeavers will respond to and address all bugs reported in these applications.
