Gilda, yes, almost exactly like a cactus flower. All white, with a bright yellow center.

What's up with the red Xs all of a sudden? Pics are still coming in fine here.

Rob had the same problem happen a couple days ago on another thread.

Try holding down your control key and pressing "r" or "F5" to do a hard refresh, see if that helps.

catus shape indicates it is the yellow one....why it went white on you ??? Now the reason they open and close is to catch the insects and trap them...evil huh ? You should notice bugs of different varieties around the center....the lilies smell yummy.
Did the hard refresh and it didn't help...could view Gin's grackel but not the colestis ???
Oh, and you will probably have several sticking up lotus leaves before you see a spike....but it shouldn't be too long before you see a bloom ! :good:

Are you serious? Water lily flowers trap insects?

    That's wild!

I'm totally clueless about the red Xs. But I seem to remember issues about that last year, too. I'll see what I can find out.

Jumpluff's coelestis is a linked image to his website; Gin's grackle was uploaded to the server. Still, Bruce's pics were uploaded to the server too, so if that was the issue, I don't understand why you can see some and not others.

Yes, exactly like that, but with whiter petals. Otherwise, exactly the same. Is that the yellow one? Maybe ours is getting too much sun and got bleached?

yep, that's the yellow one...I suppose the sun could bleach the blooms ?? Our white ones have rounder petals not pointy cactus shaped.
I can see the coelestis but not Brutal pics ?? Let me see if I can see Jane's etc.

I don't think the sun bleached out the bloom. I watched it open from a bud. It opened white and it is very white except for the very center. The second and now the third and forth buds look like they are going to be white too. I will go out and snap a shot and post it here in a few minutes.

    Cheers!

BTW...I like the white color! Maybe the water/nutrients have something to do with the color of the bloom.

The flowers are closed up, well almost. Here is a photo anyway. It has a bit more yellow than the earlier ones, but still mostly white.

    Cheers!

Also, here is the lotus with her first tall leaf!

I can see these pics...your lotus looks great !! Lotus blooms should not be far off. Hubby says you will be coming after him ,after this monster takes over your pond !.... The lily has the leaves, and is poking up out of the water like the yellow ones do......maybe it will get darker ??
