Default Those buds on the tip

So I've been watching all my Phals open their spray of blooms for the past months now all the buds have open and I've been keeping a watch on those buds on the very end of the tip they are still mitten shape but doesn't seem to be growing or so slow that they are not noticeable just wondering whether these will grow when the blooms have gone or should they be growing right about now??

On certain occasions the environmental and culturing conditions we provide are just not good enough and buds on ends of the sprays seem to dry out and fall off. This is more common with newly housed purchases or recently moved as bud blast and can occur with some, a few or a lot depending on extremes and level of shock. Then again you may find they will develop and with all orchid enthusiasts we have a tendency to lose the concept of time when we are waiting.

Sometimes these mitten shaped tips dont do anything. They arent buds as such, but meristematic growth-they keep growing and the buds are produced off the side. Sometimes the spike will go through its cycle and the meristematic growth at the tip will have done nothing after growing to the current length, but sometimes, it keeps on growing-longer and longer and produces branches off the sides.
