    Default A rare Vuylstekeara 'Reward'

Ok, so we had a show today right? Well, there was no way i was going to leave without some new additions right?!

This is my favorite, a rare (in NZ, not sure about the rest of the world...) Vuylstekeara 'Reward'. Came with one spike in bloom, plus two extras!

Beautiful Vuyl. If it's rare in NZ it's even rarer over here.I have only seen a few vuyls here and for that I have to travel to the highland stations like the Cameron Highlands. Thanks for posting.

Very nice, Jordan. Is it all Vuylstekeara in general that are rare in NZ or just this particular clone? The Vuls don't seem to be uncommon over here though they aren't necessarily super common like phals either.

Love it! Is it rare because of the climate it needs? Or because no one can pronounce the name? It looks like it has some Miltoniopsis in it, but that's just my uneducated guess. I have managed to kill a gorgeous Milt. with no effort whatsoever - I hope you keep this beauty going.

Basically, they are rare in NZ regardless, and apparently they are rather rare elsewhere too. Maybe its because no-one can be bothered with such a complex looking bloom?

Thanks Maura, the Vuylstekeara is an intergeneric hybrid between 3 genera, Cochlioda, Miltonia and Odontoglossum (Cda x Milt x Odm)
