Nice blooms!
Thanks, Connie & Angie...Betty
Wow... heat tolerant if like that I want one anyway very pretty Betty.
Zain, there is also one called Black Sambo, which is also heat tolerant. It is a dark red one. It blooms a little later than Chen's Ruby. These are both standard ( big ) cymbidiums. I don't have anymore room, or I'd get the Black Sambo. By the way, they are both fragrant... Glad you like it. Betty :-)
HI, Betty, that is a nice one!
Did you grow it in the greenhouse or outside? Partial shade? What?
Thanks, Remo
If it spent this summer outside in any part of Texas it's definitely heat-tolerant! The tolerance comes from Golden Elf. If you want less of a species look in a heat- tolerant Cym, there's Milton Carpenter, with a fuller hybrid look. Zain, Cym. Little Black Sambo is a very different kind of Cym., with 40-50 dark maroon or chocolate brown flowers on an arching to pendant inflorescence.
BTW, 'Golden Tiger' has been awarded a HCC/AOS.
Very pretty. So hard to find a heat tolerant cymbidium. I only have Golden Elf and it is very free bloomer- in fact it is blooming now.
Thats soo beautiful and Sunny Betty !! Heat tolerant is music to ears, will have to look for one
