I love to rescue Phals from the rubbish bin and then revive them....So now I have about 25 NOID phals. But I have yet to revive anything that was that far gone.

Hi phalorchid 78. Just to clear up the misunderstanding.yes you are right, orchids require/ prefer a drop in temp at night. My comment relates to the drop in temp in direct relation to the presence of water collected in crown/ axil at the same time and a result of damp rot risk encouraged by ltd air movement and too cool water providing the perfect environment for harmful bacteria and fungal growth. They love it, we dont.
If you click on my username and view posts/ threads started by me you will come across photos showing mounted plants. Best one is 'mini slice of tropics' and 'members grow area' or something like that. Im indoors using a east facing window and environmental controls in place. It works, even in the UK but there have been a few learning curves along the way and more to come i expect!
