I normally don't guess while there isn't enough clear info(in this case, you changed the flower form and not showing enough plant structure).

But for fun here, I would guess it is Zootrophion hirtzii.

LOL! That would be a better guess than the other ones you've guessed and it could have earned you some fame then if it is indeed a Z. hirtzii...but I would rather ask for prizes if I were you...

It is just a "contest" without prizes, don't get so excited, Jordan.

Eternal fame for Tom! Congratulations and respect for knowing what species is.

Zootrophion hirtzii is a very difficult species to grow for me. I only have had two flowers in it, although my plant is very big and healthy, the requirements for flowering are not good in house. The first flower I spotted was a few days after is flowered, so it was brown and wilted. And the second flower I could not resist the tempation to see what was inside. Because from the outside you see the striking red stripes and I was curious if there would be petals and a lip. And I was stund by the beauty of this flower and it's a shame that this beauty is hidden behind the grown together sepals.

    So again Congratulations Tom!!!!

I must say, what you did to the flower was very interesting. I do grow this species, and I think I will split the flower next time.
