I normally check OT from my phone but this is the first time I opened my laptop and updated my profile. And I also downloaded my avater. I had loads of photo's to choose from but I took this Photo. But what is it?
So here starts the contest:
Guess what genus this orchid is and you will gain one day of fame!
Guess what species this orchid is and you will gain eternal fame!
And it starts NOW:
Is it a Pluerothallis?
It is from the Subtribe Pleurothallidinae, but it's not the genus Pleurothallis. So congratulations, for the correct answer of the subtribe one hour of fame!!

A restrepia of some sort?
It actually looks a bit like Mormolyca, but thats in Maxillariinae, or a Bulbophyllum, but that is Bulbophyllinae...
It isnt a Myoxanthus or as Paphioboy said, a Restrepia of some sort??
Hmm, interesting. Truthfully a Bulbo first came to mind, but as Jordan pointed out, it would not then belong to the subTribe.
That being the case, I think Lepanthes would be my next best guess.
To help you all a bit, here is the original and I can give the hint that the flower has been manipulated a bit......
Good luck!
Lepanthes ribes? Barbosella australis? an Octomeria of some sort?!
Nice try, but no......
By the way, Lepanthes ribes is a very good guess. And come to think of it, there might be an even closer relationship between these genera then we might expect.
